Parent Guide
Answers to the questions parents ask us most — our teaching approach, schedule, tuition and holidays.
We're recognized for speaking-centric learning. In a typical class, the teacher does 80% of the talking — in ours, students do 70%+ of the talking through discussion, presentations, partner work, and vocabulary in action. Peer groups aren't decoration; they're the foundation of immersion. And before anything else, we plant the passion — a child who doesn't want to learn English never will.
A proprietary workbook series designed by Prime Elite for our students, with dynamic, interactive and immersive lessons that keep them engaged and growing. Every novel is paired with its own Elite Elements workbook, with five learning strands running side by side every week: 1. Vocabulary — new word sets drawn from the novel · usage tracker · regular tests 2. Novel — deep comprehension, part by part, finished with a debate 3. Literary Elements — perspective, conflict, textual proof 4. Oral Fluency — persuasive speaking, culminating in a final speech 5. STEM/STEAM Project — design, build, test, present (the finale!)
Reading grows in stages, from series chapter books to full-length novels: Stage 1 — Series chapter books: where the reading rhythm is built Stage 2 — Mid-length novels: the finishing stage Stage 3 — Full-length novels: full stamina and "I read that whole book" pride Titles and pace are set for each class level, so every child moves up from where they start — and grows into a reader who finishes long novels on their own.
Our signature practice is the Vocabulary Word Tracker. New vocabulary sets are drawn from each novel, and before students test, each word must be used aloud in class three times — with a classmate, in a discussion, in a presentation. The teacher verifies every use. Words don't live only on test papers — language becomes yours when you speak it.
Regular assessments keep skills sharp throughout each workbook: · Each vocabulary set — vocabulary test · Monthly — oral fluency evaluation · Every 2 months — speaking presentation · End of each workbook — comprehensive vocabulary test and full workbook test (novel, literary, nonfiction, grammar) Each workbook culminates in a final speech and a project presentation.
Yes — field trips every year, built to remember. English lives outside the workbook, in real experience, real laughter, real memory. Recent destinations include Zoolung Zoolung (주렁주렁, indoor animal experience), Gwangmyeong Cave, and Nolja Forest Adventures — with Children's Grand Park coming up next. We build the moments where English felt like fun, freedom, and friendship.
Our founder and head teacher, Rickey Kim, has spent over 20 years inside Korea's major academies — the Big 5 Daechi and Seocho institutions — in management and curriculum development, and inside major educational publishing companies as a content designer. Through all of it, one truth held: the classroom lights up when the teacher genuinely loves teaching. Prime Elite was built on that conviction.
We teach Kindergarten (from age 6), Elementary and Middle School students, and our Academy Prep Division prepares students for top academy entrance tests. Customized and 1:1 classes are also available.
The placement test covers reading, grammar, and writing for the written test. Students who pass the initial test will have an interview with the principal to determine the most appropriate class placement.
The main workbooks are the Elite Elements and Prime Progressions Workbooks, which are specially made by the Academy. These are combined with other textbooks, interactive materials, and supplementary resources to provide a comprehensive learning experience.
Students are assessed through regular homework, participation, vocabulary tests, speaking presentations, writing assignments, and comprehensive tests throughout each term.
