2026 Curriculum Guide

Curriculum

Grade by grade — the levels, novels, workbooks and textbooks your child will study this year.

  • Leveled classes

Within each grade, classes are leveled — Pre-Prime, PRIME, ELITE — and placement follows a level test.

  • Small classes

    4–8 students per class

  • Schedule

Twice a week, 3 hours per class

Placement is decided after a level test — AR ranges are a guide.

Grade 1 · ELITE Program · 2026

Teach with PASSION,
Learn with PURPOSE,
Rise with PRIME.

The 2026 guide to our year together — for the families of the ELITE 1st Grade class.

Our philosophy · Speaking-centric learning

First we plant the passion. Then everything else grows.

01

Passion First

A child who doesn't want to learn English never will. We spend our first energy on the desire to learn.

02

Speaking-Centric

We're recognized for student-led discussion and real interaction — not lecture time. That's the frame the class is built on.

03

Peers as Immersion

Peer groups aren't decoration — they're the foundation. Children hear, respond to, and build on each other's language, and that becomes immersion.

Language only becomes yours when you use it — heard by a peer, replied to, and answered again.

How the class works · Active learning

In our classroom, the student — not the teacher — talks the most.

A typical class

80%

Teacher does the talking.

Students sit, listen, take notes, and prepare for tests.

Our class · Prime Elite

70%+

Students do the talking.

Discussion, presentations, partner work, vocab in action — every class is a speaking gym.

Learning happens in the mouth, not the seat.

Our proprietary workbook · The heart of the program

The Elite Elements Workbook

A proprietary workbook made for our students. Every novel pairs with one Elite Elements workbook, with interactive, immersive lessons that connect reading, speaking and writing.

Elite Elements workbook cover
  1. 01

    Vocabulary

Vocabulary drawn from the novel — real conversation and writing words, with a word tracker and regular tests

  2. 02

    Novel

Meaningful comprehension, critical thinking, plot elements — four parts, ending in a novel debate

  3. 03

    Literary Elements

Perspective, character views, conflict, textual proof — interpret, analyze, defend

  4. 04

    Oral Fluency

Persuasive speaking — opinion, reasons, audience, delivery. Culminates in a final speech

  5. 05

STEM · STEAM Project — the finale

Hands-on builds — design, build, test, then present your idea with a persuasive script

A signature practice

Use each new word 3 times — out loud, in class — before the test.

Each novel brings a new vocabulary set drawn from the story. Before students test, every word must be used aloud in class three times — with a classmate, in a discussion, in a presentation. The teacher checks each box.
